I am Gloria, a first time mom and anticipating no 2. My toddler is 4 years old, she is a very smart and inquisitive lass. She asks questions a lot and if you try to wade her off, just as soon as you thought she’s forgotten, she asks again until you explain it to her. She’s been asking both I and her dad when we are getting her a little baby as all her friends have a little baby. There was a day she got back from school and asked “mummy, are you pregnant?” . I told her no, but explained to her that soon she will have a little baby. Thinking that was the end of the question, her dad got back and she asked him the same question. We just saw it as an innocent question probably something she picked from school.
I used to be a size 10 before I got married but after marriage and childbirth I gained weight alot. At a point, I was working on weight reduction, but my husband discouraged me and told me he liked me better now than before, so…… i let go.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, I took her with me to the mall to get a few things and we bumped into my university friend, God! she was looking so pretty after 2 kids . After the usual catching up on the old and new gist , she asked the ultimate question “are you pregnant?” (yes, I am big and my after-baby tummy is still there, my husband is not complaining) before i was able to answer the question, my PR manager already replied on my behalf “no, mummy is not pregnant and she doesn’t want to give me a little baby”. Then my friend started with the “you need to work on your tummy” sermon. I almost wanted to shake her right there, I was so angry.
I got home and told my husband what happened, He laughed and laughed and I had to join him ….. Afterall, who can be angry at an innocent inquisitive toddler ….. lol
….. You can’t blame this kids really …….
